I love Halloween more than anything except maybe Christmas and I tend to go all out for the spooky season. This year I’m in an office job where I feel I can really express myself so all October I’ve been dressing in Spooky office outfits. I knew I’d be out of the country for Halloween so I wanted to have as much fun as I could the week before.
My makeup palette I used for all these looks is the Colourpop Nightmare Before Christmas palette.

Here’s what I wore for the week before Halloween.
Monday:
Started the week in a wrap dress my wife gave me paired with my spiderweb Sweetleg leggings. Added some spooky, smoky eyeshadow, purple red lip, and a pair of spider earrings. Paired with my denim jacket and Michael Kor’s heeled boots. Also added my spooky Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven scarf. I got quite a few compliments on this outfit which made me feel pretty good. It’s not that far out of what I usually wear so I can’t help but wonder if it’s because I’m wearing more makeup than I usually wear. I also have a bunch of really great pins and buttons on my denim jacket (how gay of me, I know) so I thought I’d include a couple up close photos of those as well. They aren’t Halloween themed but there is one pin of a rat holding a pumpkin so I’m counting it.

Tuesday:
Despite it being a bit too big for me, my wife bought me this amazing bat shirt from Bloomchic that I paired with navy pixie pants from Old Navy. Added some pumpkin earrings and a purple eyeshadow and red lip. Put my hair up with this cool clip I got in Kensington market in Toronto. Also wore my green Fluevog Antares boots and a blazer. I love this outfit so much. The shirt makes me feel super cute and I don’t think any item of clothing I own makes me feel more powerful than my Antares. I love going for a walk at lunch and hearing people say “nice Fluevogs”. Obviously I didn’t wear them outdoors on this particular day because it was pouring with rain, but you know, sometimes I wear them in the wild. I’m actually planning on wearing this shirt in Vegas on Halloween so I’m pretty excited for that. And it’ll be warm enough that I can wear it without a blazer and show off the bats on the sleeves.

Wednesday:
Wore a very Wednesday Addams Ralph Lauren dress. Obviously I had to do braids and some dark makeup including a purple lip. Paired it with some Frankenstein earrings, a leather jacket, and heeled Michael Kors boots. Wow, I was not expecting such a strong reaction from this outfit. I wear this dress all the time and no one says anything but because of the hair and makeup everyone knew who I was dressed as. I got compliments all day which was really lovely. I definitely ended up giving up on lipstick halfway through the day cause this one doesn’t stay on very well but at least I was wearing it for pictures. It was definitely the most costumey of my outfits which is why I think it got so much attention.

Thursday:
Wore my pumpkin shirt with some pixie pants, both from Old Navy. Paired it with my big cozy oversized sweater. Wore wooden pumpkin earrings and some gold and orange eyeshadow and a copper lip. Put my hair in space buns. Wore my comfortable old boots. Definitely got lots of makeup compliments today. I’m carving a pumpkin at work on Monday (my last day before vacation) so I might have to repeat this outfit then.

Friday:
Went a little more casual with my shirt for Friday. Had to end the week with a “This Witch is Bihexual” shirt from ModCloth with some patterned pixies and a blazer. Paired it with my gay ghost earrings I just bought at a craft market. Threw my hair up in a top knot. Once again I’m in my trusty boots. I did have one of the Help Desk guys at work tell me they wanted my shirt so that was cool. I’m really surprised no one commented on my earrings though because they’re awesome and I love them.

Anyways I think this week proved that I need to put a little more effort in sometimes cause I felt really good and cute this week. Although, there’s nothing wrong with being lazy either. Happy Halloween!
